Return on Ad Spend Calculator
Return on ad spend (ROAS) compares revenue attributed to an advertising campaign with the cost of the ads. It is a top-line campaign metric; revenue divided by ad spend is not the same thing as profit.
How to use this calculator
- Enter the revenue you attribute to the chosen campaign and the spend for the same campaign and time window.
- Review the worked campaign example and compare its arithmetic with the inputs you plan to use.
- Change one input at a time when exploring a different scenario, and keep units and assumptions consistent.
ROAS multiple
ROAS = attributed revenue ÷ advertising spend; percentage equivalent = ROAS × 100.
- A ROAS of 3x means €3 of attributed revenue per €1 of ad spend, before product costs and other expenses.
- The page's numerical output is calculated from the values entered; it does not independently verify whether those inputs fit the real-world situation.
Worked examples
Campaign example
A campaign costs €500 and receives €1,750 in attributed revenue.
€1,750 ÷ €500 = 3.5x
ROAS is 3.5x (350%).
Understanding the result
ROAS allows a quick comparison of revenue efficiency, but profitability depends on contribution margin and non-ad costs.
Attribution models, returns, taxes, discounting, fulfilment, and agency fees may change the business interpretation.
Important notes
Use the same attribution model and date range when comparing campaign ROAS.
Displayed values may be rounded for readability. Keep appropriate precision for intermediate calculations and check the unit labels before using the result.
